Dutch painter (b. 1606, Utrecht, d. 1684, Antwerpen). Dutch painter of fruit and flower pieces. He studied with his father, David de Heem, and became one of Holland's foremost still-life painters. His paintings are found in many leading European museums; the Metropolitan Museum possesses three examples. 1787-1869 French Francois Joseph Navez gallery Francois-Joseph Navez (Charleroi, 1787 - Brussels, 1869) was a Belgian neo-classical painter. A pupil of Jacques-Louis David, he spent five years in Italy between 1817 and 1822. He was a very successful portrait painter. He also painted many mythological and historic subjects. The orientalist painter Jean-Francois Portaels was his pupil (and son-in-law).

Swedish painter, Venetian school (b. 1665, Tukholma, d. 1745, Venezia).was a Baroque painter, born in Sweden, but painting mainly landscapes or veduta of Venice. Richter was born in Stockholm and died in Venice. He was known to be active in Venice by 1717. He was influenced by Luca Carlevarijs.
LEYSTER, Judith
Dutch Baroque Era Painter, 1609-1660 Dutch painter. A brewer's daughter, she had gained membership in the Haarlem painters' guild by age 24. Many of her known works, primarily portraits, genre paintings, and still lifes, were formerly attributed to her male contemporaries. Though the influence of Frans Hals is clear, she was also interested in the Baroque style of the Utrecht school. She embraced a greater range of subjects than other Dutch painters of the era
